Physician Compensation.
Made Clear.

Acuity helps physician-owned medical practices evaluate, design, and administer compensation models that are understandable, financially sustainable, and aligned with how the practice actually operates.

Specialized Expertise

Independent Compensation Advisory

Acuity provides specialized physician compensation expertise without requiring your practice to build that capability in-house. We provide independent analysis, financial modeling, plan design, and ongoing advisory support for physician-owned practices seeking clarity, consistency, and long-term sustainability.

When did you last review your compensation formula?

Practices change. Compensation formulas often do not. As physicians join or leave, collections shift, service lines expand, staffing costs rise, and utilization changes, a formula that once worked can begin producing results that no longer reflect the practice's financial reality.

Acuity helps practices identify whether their current methodology is working as intended — and model what happens before they make changes.

Core Services

01
Compensation Plan Assessment

Review the mechanics of your existing physician compensation methodology to identify unclear assumptions, misaligned incentives, financial risks, and areas that warrant refinement.

02
Compensation Modeling

Model compensation under different productivity, collections, staffing, and overhead assumptions so leadership can understand the financial effect of potential changes before implementation.

03
Plan Design & Redesign

Build or redesign a physician compensation methodology around your ownership structure, revenue model, productivity measures, overhead approach, and financial goals.

04
Ongoing Compensation Administration

Provide recurring compensation calculations, reconciliations, reporting, and independent support so your practice can administer its plan consistently over time.

NEW OR NEWLY INDEPENDENT PRACTICES

Start with a compensation model built for your practice.

Do not wait until compensation becomes a point of disagreement to decide how physicians will be paid. Acuity helps physician owners establish a methodology early — before growth, staffing changes, and ownership decisions make an informal approach difficult to unwind. We design models around how the practice generates revenue, shares costs, measures physician contribution, and plans for growth.

ESTABLISHED PRACTICES

Make sure your formula still fits the practice you have today.

Your practice may look very different from when its compensation methodology was created. New physicians, new locations, changing payer mix, increased overhead, ancillary services, APP integration, and shifting productivity can all affect whether the original formula still produces the intended result. Acuity evaluates the financial mechanics of your current methodology, models alternative approaches, and helps leadership determine whether the plan remains sustainable and aligned.

Experience Behind the Analysis

13+ Years

in specialty medical group finance

120+

physicians supported across multiple specialties

30+

APPs incorporated into practice financial structures

$150M+

in physician practice collections analyzed, reported on, or overseen

Experience includes physician compensation calculations, wRVU- and collections-based methodologies, direct-expense and overhead allocation, APP economics, benchmarking, financial modeling, pro formas, budgeting, and physician-practice financial reporting.

Illustrative Engagement

A multi-physician practice had expanded its provider team and added APP support, but its compensation model still reflected the practice’s earlier structure. Acuity reviewed the allocation methodology, modeled alternative approaches using productivity, collections, and expense assumptions, and provided a clear analysis for physician leadership to use in deciding whether and how to update the plan.
